We are now seeking a high calibre and experienced individual to join our Procurement team in Southwest as Strategic Procurement Manager. Situated in the heart of stunning Dorset countryside, our Southwest site provides leading-edge chemistry support for investigational APIs in pre-clinical and early clinical development. Our team of world-class chemists and analysts work in a well-equipped range of development and production facilities and possess significant expertise in process research, chemical development and cGMP manufacture. The Southwest site is also home to our main Distribution centre and key corporate functions including the Procurement team. In this newly created role, you will be responsible for leading and managing the Procurement team across several locations in the UK & Ireland. You will lead the team to ensure they purchase high quality products, at the lowest possible cost while managing inventory and improving service levels to our customers. This will include supporting other departments, subsidiaries, brands and divisions to reduce our cost of finished goods, raw materials and supplies, as well as leveraging our Company buying power with a i 1 2one company approachi 1 2. You will coach and develop the Procurement team to ensure they meet the growing demands of the business. A critical part of your role will involve evaluating and improving systems, processes and procedures used in purchasing to meet the current and future requirements and you will personally take a leading role in process improvement initiatives. You will need to be able to effectively build relationships and influence across the Company, share knowledge and grow your team to ensure the function strengthens its professional and strategic approach. You will independently develop and execute a strategic plan for our high value spends and vendors. This will include monitoring supplier market profiles to identify opportunities within the marketplace, independently source and negotiate for best overall cost, as well as identify improvement efforts with our Strategic Suppliers. The later includes improving on-time/quality improvements driving B2B connectivity negotiating supplier agreements that maximize the corporations benefits as well as building supplier relationships to ensure continuity of supply. Key Accountabilities include:- i 1 2 Manage and Mentor Procurement Specialists in UK and Ireland i 1 2 Assess and improve the teami 1 2s skills, capabilities. The project manager will focus on Leisure Services within the area. The project manager will provide advice to the Project Board on strategic, leisure, financial and procurement issues, as well as practical issues relating to the new leisure management contract. The Leisure Project Manager will work alongside the Project Board and external legal advisers to implement the agreed project plan for the delivery of the new leisure contract. Our client is a UK company manufacturing and installing large power generators to projects worldwide. They are currently involved with the installation of a generator for an existing power station in Madagascar. They have an urgent requirement for an experienced Project Manager who must be able to speak fluent technical French and English to oversee the installation, deal with the client, deal with the foreign partner and contractors on site and generally project manage this for a period of 12 - 14 months with trips back to head office in the UK as required. You will be directly responsible to the commercial manager. You must have previous project management experience of similar projects - ideally be experienced in all areas of site project management with specific experience and knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering with hands on generator & systems experience. You will liaise with the installation partner and monitor and report on progress, quality, delays and all contract variations in accordance with the requirement of the contract and instigate all notices in a timely fashion. You will act as our clients site representative. You will arrange and attend Client site meetings in order to achieve the project criteria and resolve all site issues. You will oversee specialist subcontractors site works in order to ensure the works are carried out satisfactorily and in accordance with the contract documents, you will instigate all necessary notices incorporating design clarifications, drawing approvals, confirmation of clients requested changes, request drawing approvals, recording of site delays, general administration duties and keeping the commercial manager and HQ informed of progress. You will prepare, amend and update site programmes on a weekly basis to suit site contract requirements incorporating design, procurement, installation and test and commissioning elements, you will ensure with their partner on site compliance with the necessary local legislation including health and safety issues, including but not limited to arranging all local H&S and CDM issues. You must be able to drive the project forward. You will produce reports and be able to identify any current ongoing site issues which may have a detrimental affect on quality, delay progress or require technical input. Our client will provide accommodation, flights, car, pension etc. and ideally this will be a long term role as our client is growing across both Africa and China.
